Pornichet, 28 April 2010
Yesterday we prepared the boat for transport in Scheveningen and left at 13:00. After a night of driving through Belgium and northern France the boat and the crew arrived at a sunny Pornichet around 07:30. We worked hard to get the boat ready for craning but found out that the tide was not on our side, because a Farr 30 needs more than one and a half meter of water depth. Time for a much needed coffee break!
Once the Mummaduck was back in the water we continued to get ready for racing and finish the safety checks. Today Yann, a sailor involved in the Groupama Project, helped us to get familiar with our new navigation system. Together with Thijs he spend the day fine-tuning the instruments.
Tomorrow we'll finish the last safety check and do some training in the morning. The first race is scheduled for 15:30 and the weather will be like today: very sunny and a gentle breeze. Perfect!
Stay tuned
