Preview North Sea Regatta

Delft, 19 May 2010

After sailing three events abroad the Mumma Duck Sailling Team will sail their forth event in Holland. Together with other Dutch Farr 30 teams the team will sail the North Sea Regatta at Scheveningen during the Whitsun weekend.

North Sea Regatta
The team trained together with team Delft Challenge and team Brunel in Scheveningen last week. Training with two other boats was very useful for the upcoming races and the Tour de France a la Voile this summer. Next weekend the team will race against these two teams during the North Sea Regatta. This event is one of the largest sailing events in Holland and therefore this event will be used to show the Mumma Duck Sailing Team to the Dutch audience.

Crew
During the North Sea Regatta there will be some changes in the crew during the regatta. Rob will be sailing on the Mumma Duck at Friday and then switch to the Connect Lesonal for the rest of the weekend. Ralph will be trimming the spinnaker at Friday. Ties will take over his place the rest of the weekend. Bram van der Biest will be responsible for the genua trim. Rikst is responsible for the tactics this time and Thijs will be the helmsman. Pieter will be at his usual spot, the mainsail. David will be the whole weekend in the pit. There is also a new name on the boat: Mijke Lievens. She will be on the bow this weekend.

What's next
After the North Sea Regatta the team will have a training session in Scheveningen during the weekend of the 29th and 30th of May. During this weekend the team will prepare the last things for the Normandy Sailing Week, which will be held at Le Havre from the 3rd of June till the 6th of June. Laurent Pages will be the skipper of the team during this regatta. This will be the last event before starting the Tour de France a la Voile 2010.
