It was a long night for some team members. When the races were finished the boat had taken out of the water yesterday to repair some damage. The damage was caused by the offshore from the day before. After more than 20 hours and cans full of sweat the boat was ready just before the start of the offshore!
Meanwhile the others had a great diner together with the TU Delft and Brunel team. The chefs of all the teams made a delicious three course menu. After the Dutch "Wilhelmus" the diner was served but there was not too much time to enjoy it. At half past eight all the teams had to be back in the harbour to watch, dressed in orange, the World Cup Soccer game between "Pays-bas" and Uruguay.
A few people couldn't watch it because of the boat, they worked till 3am. After a nap of less than two hours they finished the job at 1 o'clock and the boat was back in shape. Together with Brunel, the Mumma Duck was still the only one to get back into the water. The dock start would be at 2pm. The only problem was that there was nobody on the crane. Just before the dock start Brunel got into the water, just a few minutes later the Mumma Duck could be craned. After some cleaning the boat was ready to start the long race to Lorient.
Many thanks to Kay, Pieter, Bram, Thijs and Rodny. Without them it was an impossible job to get the boat ready in time of the offshore. They will take their rest and the others are sailing. The finish off the offshore will be at Tuesday morning. During the whole race updates will be posted at twitter: twitter.com/mummaduckcom.
