The start of the race was postponed due to the bad wind conditions. After waiting more than four hours, and also more than an hour on the water, it was time to race. For today there was a coastal race planned, 17 miles around an island near Lorient. The result was the best so far, a third position!
When a light breeze arrived between the island and the coast at two o'clock the team could practice a little with these conditions. It were nice sailing conditions. About a quarter later there was the signal to start the race. After choosing the starboard side together with St. Malo and Dunkerque the wind dropped a little, so they went a bit off the line. At the actual start they choose the right side, this seemed to a pretty fast part of the course. After tacking they went almost to the coast of the island where a light breeze were. At this time they were already in a fifth position! It was a hard fight between the first five boats. One moment they could catch two more boats; they were in third by now.
After a first very tactical part of the race it was now a race about speed. With TPM very close to the Mumma Duck they won together a lot on the fourth boat of the fleet. Arriving at the south west of the island TPM won a lot of distance. During the last leg there was a lot of unstable wind, they gap got too big to overtake.
Tomorrow probably one inshore race and in the evening the offshore to Talmont-Saint-Hilaire will start. Hopefully more good results in the following race.
