Lorient, 12 July 2010
It was again a good day for the Mumma Duck team today. At the offshore from Lorient to Talmont Saint Hilaire the team finished in a great third position. After taking the lead at the start of the race they were together with the quickest of the fleet. Al lot of pro teams finished behind team. A great result.
It took a long time before the race could start. After three start finally the race started. By going to the right part of the course they could head to the first mark in first position. Afterwards the whole fleet was spread. One part went out on the sea and another part stayed at the coast. But the team stayed a bit in the middle.
In the night the sea was the best position to be. So they decided to go a bit more out on the sea. Novelle Caledonie came from the sea and had some more speed. Also Dunkerque had more speed and took over the Mumma Duck. Now they were in third position. With more than 8 hours to go they could defend their position and within 15 minutes they finished behind Novelle Caledonie and Courrier Dunkerque.
With this third position the team did a good job at the rankings. Geneve had a bad to today, the gap is getting smaller and smaller. Maybe it's possible to gain more points in the next few days. There will be some inshore racing tomorrow.
