Fifth position in the offshore

Marseille, 16 July 2010

Now your PR guy finally arrived at the Mediterranean the website will be updated again daily! With a not so good start at the Med, it was time for some good results. And these results came. Getting into a fifth position in last night's offshore, where the two most important opponents were in the back of the fleet, the team did a great job in the rankings. They are now in a second position in the amateur ranking with just a small gap to the number 1…

The offshore started last night at Port Camargue to finish 65 miles later at Marseille. At the start the speed was a bit too fast but although at the starting line the speed was good. Due to this they could get into the lead. For a long time they sailed together with Nouvelle and TPM in the top three. A very long upwind race was started. From now on the word of the day was 'hiking'. Almost the whole race Laurent shouted: "Keep hiking guys!", "Don't forget to hike!", "More hiking!". Halfway through it seemed to be that the boats that were out on the sea were quicker. Already Safran and Grooverderci overtook the Mumma Duck, so they decided to go to the sea where they could keep their speed. In the end it was deserved fifth position for the team.

In this race the numbers one and two in the amateur ranking did not a good job by finishing not higher than a 20th position. With 25 points between the first three everything is still possible. Tomorrow there will be one or two inshore races.
