An Early start for the Mumma Duck Sailing Team

Delft, 5 February, 2010

After an intermezzo of over 2 months the Mumma Duck will taste the salty water of the Mediterranean early next week. The last few months have not been idle, the hull is repainted, a lot of large and small chores are finished. Technically, the boat is fully prepared for the new season. As a finishing touch, the boat will be seen in a complete new livery.

Primo Cup Monaco
The first event of the season will be sailed during the Primo Cup in Monaco. Between 8 to 10 competitors are expected, among which several teams who will be competing during the Tour de France á la Voile 2010. This event will be the first showdown with the French top-teams.

The Crew
During the Primo Cup the team will consist of regular team members, suplemented by new talents. Thomas Dawson will, after a succesful Cowes Week, work on the tactics of the boat. Rikst Dijkstra, recently acquired from the DSWZ Broach talent pool will be drive the boat trough the Mediterranean. The team will further consist of Pieter, Rodny, Ties, Thijs and Remko. On shore Remond Verloop will take care of the website, twitter and keep the picture and movie archives up to date.

Targets
During the event our attention will be primarily at the starts and to perfect our boat speed. Catching the best pro teams will be the focus of every race, that way we can pick up most information during the entire event.

During the entire 2010 season we are working towards the Tour de France á la Voile 2010. The team can be found on the Dutch waters for training and, for the perfect preparation, will sail the four largest one design events in France.
