Monaco, 14 February, 2010
The first race wasn’t the best race we’d ever had. The start was not so good. After that we got stuck in a big windless area in the center of the course, we lost a lot time there. Afterwards the downwind speed was improved but not sufficient, both Toulon and Dunkerque had their asymmetric gennakers on, smoking the other crews in the light breeze. We finally finished in 6th postion.
After a lost first race we had a very good start in the second race. After the start there was a big gap to the other boats. At the half of the race Tendrisse and Olympic came a bit closer but couldn’t pass us. Result: 1st place in this race. A good way to finish the weekend.
After the race we immediately started to prepare the boat for transport. Escorted by the martime police we left Monaco at 10pm. The trip was conducted smoothly, despite the snowy conditions in the Belgian Ardennes. Just after midnight the boat arrived at Delft.
This evening (Tuesday) the boat will be transported to Stellendam, where it will be released on the water again at Friday. The next couple of weekends big trainings will take place.
The next big event will be Spi Ouest in the beginning of April.
